Today I met Steve after work in Southend. We had a drink in the Slug and Lettuce. Then we went across the road to Subway and shared a veggie sub.It doesn't sound much but it was such a treat just to do something a little bit different during the week.

Good for you! I wish we made more of an effort to do things.
I can't take the credit - it was Steve's idea. As I was coming home from work I thought : I'm too tired for this. But then I thought - well if he was a friend (ofcourse he is a friend as well, but you know what i mean)I'd make the effort. So I made the effort!
Simple things are the best. And if you want a REAL break from the norm, you can baby sit Tamsyn for an hour or two... Mainly for the comedy factor. That will keep you on your toes!
I remember babysitting Aaron when he was having a full blown hissy fit. I picked up Bob the Builder and said something like "oh Aaron you're upsetting Bob. He hates seeing you unhappy" (I was v. v. desperate by this stage.) Aaron stopped screaming picked up Bob (Oh good this is working, I thought) and then slung Bob at me with all his baby mite. And then started screaming again...
hehehe sounds like Tam... She tried to smack me with a broom earlier on. Granted I had been poking her with it, but it was amusing ;)
